Group One winning star Krug is among a powerful line up Kentuckiana Lodge take to Addington’s premier meeting on Friday night.

The Cran and Chrissie Dalgety trained pacer is back in New Zealand and ready to hit the track after a returning from his Australian campaign.

Krug takes on a talented line up though many of his rivals haven’t raced in the kind of company he has.

With the pacer feeling and looking very bright in the lead up to his New Zealand return, the Kentuckiana team are hopeful Krug can show his class.

“He seems in a really good space since he’s been home,” Carter Dalgety said.

“He is fit and well and even though he has drawn wide I would like to think he would run very well.”

“We will be looking to keep him out of trouble and let him show his class.”

“With the blinds on he should be a potent force.”

Coney Island Lou was a big last start winner at Addington and he returns to the track to take on a smart field.

The Kentuckiana team hope the pacer can again show what a classy three-year-old he is.

“His last start win was massive, just through circumstances he had to do a power of work and he still won very nicely,” Carter said.

“We have been very happy with him since then and even though there are some smart ones in there he should make his presence felt.”

Black Pearl steps out for Kentuckiana Lodge in Friday night’s Sires Stakes heat.

On the back of two strong efforts, the filly is expected to run well again.

“She is fit and well and should be running another good race.”

“The one horse is a smart filly and she might take some catching but our filly should be right in the fight.”

Darby O’Gill steps back in grade after taking a smart field of three-year-olds in his last start at Oamaru.

The pacer is expected to bounce back to form on Friday night.

“His last run at Oamaru was below par, he is much better than that.”

“His work has been very pleasing and he has drawn the ace which should put him right where he needs to be.”

“We are expecting a nice run.”

Divaca also steps out at Addington on Friday night for the Kentuckiana team.

The four-year-old is ready for his debut assignment after having a solid grounding in his trials and workouts.
