Join the winning ride to Australasia’s elite races with Kentuckiana Lodge at this year’s National Yearling Sales.
Trainers Cran & Chrissie Dalgety have a stunning record with their yearling purchases and they will again be active buyers in the Karaka and Christchurch sales rings in February.
Each year the aim for the Kentuckiana Lodge team is the same - source quality youngsters that can target the best Group One races for two and three-year-olds and open class horses.
The evolving nature of ownership means racing a blueblood yearling with a real chance of going on to racetrack stardom is accessible to any keen harness racing fan.
“When you join our team, it doesn’t matter whether you own most of the horse or two hairs in its tail, the excitement and the experience is the same,” Cran said.
“The ownership model has evolved over the years and many of our horses are raced by groups of owners with bigger percentages right down to smaller slices.”
“We bring everyone on the ride together and give our owners the best experience, regardless of what the number is.”
“What we have found is rather than buying a whole horse or a half-share, many of our owners will spread the same investment across several horses.”
“That has been a real winner, owners can end up having horses in several feature races and it multiplies the wins and the fun they have.”
Recent Group One Invercargill and Auckland Cup winner Republican Party is a great example of a horse being raced by a group of owners with varied percentages.
The star pacer is raced by eight individual owners and two syndicates who have experienced the thrill of racing their horse at an elite level as a two and three-year-old and in the biggest open class events.
Cran has an incredible eye for equine talent, having selected an impressive line up of race track stars out of the sales ring.
As well as Republican Party, Krug, Bit Of A Legend, Smiling Shard head the list of outstanding talent that has been selected, purchased, educated and developed at Kentuckiana Lodge.
