A powerful staying performance from Wallflower set the tone for a big day out for Kentuckiana Lodge at Nelson on Friday.

The three-year-old produced what would be the first victory in a winning treble for the Cran, Chrissie, and Carter Dalgety combination, with Woodlea Jewel and All You Need Is Me also scoring.

Wallflower worked to an early lead in race 1 before rolling along at a strong tempo.

Though her rivals came up to her on the bend, they never looked like going past.

“She’s a lovely filly and a typical Bettor’s Delight,” Cran said.

“She won’t just go out and break the track record in her work, but when a horse comes up beside her she knows what it’s all about.”

“We grabbed her at the sales after we got our hands on Fernetti – her half-brother.”

“He has done a super job for us and we think we are on the right track with this girl.”

“We are hopeful she will work up towards age-group racing, especially those races over a bit more distance.”

“She sticks on better than most, as she showed today.”

Wallflower is raced by a great crew of Kentuckiana Lodge owners including Hazel Opzeeland, Pauline Gillan, K R Clark, Oliver Ryan, Mrs A L Ryan, Brendon Fahy, Paul Hailes, R W Sym, the Dawcott Syndicate, and the WF Syndicate.

Woodlea Jewel made her Kentuckiana Lodge debut a winning one when clearing out from her rivals to win race 4.

The mare hasn’t been with the Dalgetys long, but she is clearly enjoying her new surroundings.

“She’s a Sweet Lou bred by the Woodlands Stud team, and we have had plenty of success with that combination,” Cran said.

“She’s a tough little thing; she just keeps trucking, and Carter drove her accordingly.”

“Being in the lower grades, you wouldn’t think she would be finished winning just yet on the time she ran and her performance.”

Woodlea Jewel’s new group of owners include Carter, Josh Davine, Gary Milne, Neville Milne, Tony Clifford, Barry Patton, and Allan Sharrock.

All You Need Is Me added to her family’s already incredible record when completing the Kentuckiana Lodge treble in race 5.

The royally bred daughter of Captaintreacherous and Adore Me showed speed and power, as well as greenness when cruising to victory.

“It’s a beautiful, picturesque track at Nelson and we reckon she had a look around at most of it on the way round,” Cran said.

“The good part was when it was time to get serious; she really kicked it into gear.”

“There’s no doubt she will learn a lot from today and from the trip away; the future looks bright.”

“It was a pleasing result when you are trusted with a filly with her quality and her breeding.”

All You Need Is Me is raced by the Kenny family's Charles Joseph Ltd.

As well as having great success with the incredible line of horses, the Dalgety family has a special connection to the 'Me' breed.

Cran's late father Jim bred and raced the matriarch of the outstanding breed in Scuse Me.

Placings from Orlando Express and Watermelon Sugar added to an already impressive day out for Kentuckiana Lodge at Nelson.
